Skip-a-beat & MuSo Bring You Long Night At The Museum

Long Night at the Museum at Museum of Solutions

Skip-a-beat partnered with the Museum of Solutions (MuSo) in Lower Parel to stage Long Night At The Museum, an event that turned the museum's floors into a layered listening environment. Ambient sounds filled the upper floors while deeper electronic sets took over the main level, with the museum's architecture shaping how each set was experienced.

A small market ran alongside the music, bringing together publishers, vinyl collectors and artists, while local food vendors served momos and South Indian street food to the crowd moving between floors. Both nights of the event sold out.

Skip-a-beat's founder spoke about the intent behind the format: “We wanted to create an environment where the music could breathe, somewhere that adds to the music rather than competing with it.”

That philosophy shaped every part of the night, from the floor-by-floor sound design to the choice of vendors and the market layout, all built to let people move through the space at their own pace rather than funnel them toward a single stage.

Long Night At The Museum sits within skip-a-beat's broader curatorial practice around independent music, alongside the EyeMyth Media Arts Festival and the Absolut Creative Commune. See the full programme on the Curation page.
